Vision 2020

Penn Mutual Continues Sponsorship of National Initiative that Targets Full Equality for Women by 2020

In conjunction with our Worth initiative and in support of our ongoing commitment to help ensure the financial future of women, Penn Mutual is proud to be the presenting sponsor of Vision 2020. In March 2011, the company announces its continued sponsorship through 2014.

Vision 2020 is a decade-long national project focused on making equality a national priority through shared leadership among women and men. Initiated by the Institute for Women's Health and Leadership at Drexel University College of Medicine, its purpose is to advance the progress of women in leadership roles throughout society with a focus on the year 2020, which is the 100th anniversary of women's right to vote.

Already, Vision 2020 and its extraordinary network of 102 delegates from across the country met October 21-22, 2010 for Vision 2020: An American Conversation about Women and Leadership. After drafting a Declaration of Equality, the assembled delegates returned to their home states to initiate "action projects" centered on one of Vision 2020's eight topic areas:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Business, Law and Finance
  • Communications and Media
  • Education
  • Health
  • Politics and Government
  • Philanthropy, Faith and Volunteerism
  • Science, Technology and Engineering

Get Involved

  • Read and sign the Action Agenda created by the National Delegates – the Declaration of Equality.
  • Join the Campaign for Equality – become a member of Vision 2020.
  • Tell your mother, daughters, sisters and friends about this important initiative to increase leadership opportunities for women. Watch the media and visit the WorthForWomen and Vision 2020 websites often for more information about the Vision 2020 action projects.
  • Register to vote and vote at every opportunity. The suffragists believed that to create change—social, economic, educational and political—women needed a way to participate in democracy. They worked hard and sacrificed much to ensure women have a voice. Don't take it for granted.
